Saqqara & Memphis & Dahshor Pyramid
Memphis was ancient Egypt’s capital, standing just 25 KM, south of Cairo. It is home to many splendid monuments, including the Pharaoh Ramsees II’s 13.5-meter-statue and the Alabaster Sphinx. Saqqara was Memphis’ ancient necropolis city. Kings and high dignitaries, along with their sacred animals were buried in this enclosure. At Saqqara, you’ll be able to see the pyramid of Zoser, a Pharaoh of the III dynasty, also known as the Step Pyramid. This pyramid is unique and prior to those of Giza, it rises in six steps on each of the four slides to the vertex.
Our last destination will be the Dahshor Pyramids, along with the remarkable archaeological site and necropolis remains. Most people think that Egypt has only the three Giza Pyramids, however, Dahshor’s desert is the setting of other great pyramids. Just kilometers southwest of Cairo, you’ll come across the ancient city and visit the Red, Bent, and Black Pyramids. You also have the opportunity to enter inside the Red Pyramid.
